Assam registered a resounding innings and 94-run victory, showcasing a dominant all-round display with both bat and ball on 6th January.
After winning the toss and opting to field, Assam’s bowlers set the tone early by dismissing Chhattisgarh for 124 runs in their first innings.
The highlight of the match was an outstanding century by Aman Yadav, who was declared Player of the Match for his crucial knock of 108 runs off 181 balls and his valuable contribution with the ball in the second innings. Assam’s first-innings total of 406 runs was built on solid contributions from Surjeet Saikia (66), Nihal Baishya (54), Subham Biswas (51), and Sameer Mahato (47), underlining the team’s batting depth and discipline.
With a massive lead in hand, Assam’s bowlers once again delivered in the second innings, bowling out Chhattisgarh for 188 runs to seal the victory inside three innings. Notable bowling performances came from Nitrik Raj Gogoi, Digbijoy N Chetry, and Aman Yadav, ensuring there was no fightback from the opposition.
With this win, Assam qualify for the Quarter Final, where the team will face Punjab. The Quarter Final match is scheduled to commence from 11th January in Vadodara.
