Shri Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Assam Cricket Association met Shri Sourav Ganguly, Hon’ble President, BCCI; Shri Jay Shah, Hon’ble Secretary, BCCI; Shri Arun Singh Dhumal, Hon’ble Treasurer, BCCI and other officials of BCCI during his recent visit to Dubai, UAE for the IPL 2020 Finals. During the meeting, he apprised them of the various infrastructural projects being undertaken by ACA across Assam for the development of the game of cricket during the last few months of pandemic. The BCCI officials expressed deep satisfaction at the endeavours of ACA in that regard and assured all possible support and help for executing the said projects.

During the meeting, the BCCI officials were also apprised by Shri Devajit Saikia, Secretary, ACA of the findings of the Verification Committee with respect to the financial anomalies that had taken place between 12th June, 2016 and 12th January, 2019 under the previous dispensation of ACA, and the BCCI officials took a very serious note of it. It was informed that ACA would decide on the future course of action regarding the aforementioned matter relating to misutilization of funds in due consultation with BCCI.

During the meeting, Shri Jay Shah, Hon’ble Secretary, BCCI assured the Secretary that he would visit Assam and other Northeast States very shortly after Diwali to inspect the existing cricket infrastructure and other cricket activities in the region.
