Sahajananda Ojah This organiser from Nagaon is well known person to the sporting buffs of India. Ojah had been the Secretary of the Assam Cricket Association apart from guiding the Nagaon Sports Association holding top posts for several years. Ojah is the first ACA official who was selected as an official of the Indian Cricket Team for a tour. He accompanied the Indian team to Pakistan for a full tour in the year 1982-83 as an official
Rana Goswami An able sports organiser, Rana Goswami was given the responsibility by the BCCI to manage the Indian Cricket Team in the tour of Sarjah in the year 1995 with Bishen Singh Bedi as Coach and Md. Azharuddin as Captain. He also shouldered the responsibilities of leading organizations like ACA, Guahati Sports Association etc. He also served as the Vice President of BCCI.
Dr. Kamala Kalita Despite enjoying a successful political career, Dr. Kalita has been a keen sports lover and is closely associated with ACA. He was the third organizer from Assam who was selected by the Indian Cricket Board as an official of the team. Dr. Kalita accompanied the Indian Cricket Team during the maiden ICC knock-out Tournament held at Dhaka in theyear 1998.
Gautam Roy An able organizer of sports, Roy has been the President of Assam Cricket Association from 2002 to 2016, during his period ACA's Barsapara stadium came into existence.He was also one of the Vice Presidents of the Board of Control for Cricket In India. With a most successful political career, Roy has been keeping close association with sports in various capacities.
SUREN RAM PHOOKUN The first Umpire from Assam selected as a BCCI panel Umpire and International Umpire from the entire North East. Suren Ram Phookon, Officiated India – Sri Lanka ODI held at Kanpur on December 24, 1986. He also officiated several first class domestic matches and acted as a Match Referee on many occasions. Late Phookun was also familier as a Radio commentator, writer and first class football referee.
NILOY DUTTA After Suren Ram Phookun, till date, only Niloy Dutta has earned the distinction of becoming an International Umpire from Assam. Dutta had Officiated the India – Sri Lanka ODI held at Pune on December 5, 1990. He had also officiated several Ranji trophy and Dupeep Trophy matches. A leading Lawyer of Assam and North East, Dutta is closely associated with the Assam Cricket Association and offer his services in a various capacity and especially when ACA organized ODIs in Guwahati. He is at present Vice-President of the ACA.
DR. BRAJEN GOHAIN A well known cricket lover and administrator has the distinction of becoming the Manager of Indian Cricket Team which had toured Sri Lanka during Tri series ODI Tournament on September, 2009. He was a President of Tinsukia District Sports Association for long time and was a Vice- President of Assam Cricket Association from 2000-2002 and 2006 to 2016.
